Bharati Achrekar, born on 15 October 1957, is a renowned Indian actress and singer known for her versatility in Hindi and Marathi films, television, and theatre. Her journey began with professional stage debut at the age of 17, where she portrayed Tansen's daughter. Her several landmark performances in Marathi showcased her range from comedic timing to profound emotional portrayals. Building on the foundation of her theatre experience, she transitioned into feature films with Apne Paraye in 1980.
